1926-12-03 - "G. A. Martin Sold Mercantile Stock" - A deal which has been in progress for some time was closed last week when G. C. Hoard of Stewartville purchased the stock of merchandise owned by G. A. Martin. In the deal Mr. Martin became the owner of a house at Dodge Center and one at Stewartville. As Mr. Hoard is superintendent of school at Stewartville, a position he has held the past seven years, his father Mr. W. H. Hoard will have charge of the store, until next spring when school is out. The new proprietor is an experienced merchant having been in the business at Dodge Center and at Minneapolis with his father. The store will be known as the "Cash and Carry" store and a strictly cash business will be conducted. From now until January 1st a discount will be given on all purchases. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Hoard are temporarily located at the Wm. Swenson home, having come here from California.
