OBITUARY.

Mrs. Mabel B. Nicol, whose maiden name was Vaughn was born in Mona, Iowa, Sept. 17th, 1878, and died at her home in Waterloo, Ia., Dec. 6th, 1901, of typhoid complications and peritonitis. She was married to LeRoy C. Nicol June 21st, 1899. To this union was born one child, Bula Jessie. now six months old. The deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Vaughn of a family of six, Mrs. Vaughn is now the only surviving member.

Mrs. Nicol made many warm friends during her residence in Waterloo, and it is with the deepest sorrow that the friends of her childhood and youth witness the end of a life so beautiful and true and lay her to rest amid the scenes and associations of her childhood. While always religiously inclined and a faithful attendant at Sunday school and divine services yet it was not until about a year ago that she felt in her heart that the comforts had come, and that the spirit had set his special seal upon her, giving her the blessed assurance that she was God's own child. We lay her to rest with the blessed hope that we shall meet again.

The body arrived here Saturday and was taken to the residence of Dr. Cobb. The funeral was held at Mona Sunday, Rev. Kenney conducting the services.
