Golden Wedding.

About 75 of the many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Lyman of St. John congregated at their residence in Lyle township, on Wednesday, Nov. 22d, to assist them in celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of their wedding day.

Lyman St. John was married to Marian Simpson Nov. 22d, 1832, at their residence of the bride's parents in Albany county, New York. They resided in Albany and Scoharie counties, N. Y. until 1858, when they removed to this county and settled on a homestead in the town of Nevada. They have lived in the county continually since. For a short time they were residents of Austin.

Mr. St. John will be 75 years old in April 1883, and Mrs. St. John 74 in June, 1883. This venerable couple are among the most highly respected citizens of this vicinity, and the testimonials of friendship presented are but a just tribute to a worthy couple.

A cake, decorated with fifty golden dollars, was presented in a neat speech by Rev. C. D. Belden; besides this, four dollars in cash, and a dress were presented. Mrs. S. Slow read a letter expressing the kind regards of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Eddy. A bountiful supper was spread, of which all present freely partook. The company dispersed at a seasonable hour, wishing the good couple many returns of this their wedding day. GEO. W. E. HILL.
