He had been in poor health for the past four years but had been up and about. He was doing some repair on his car when the stroke came on. He tried to make it to the house but fell on the porch and was found there by his daughter Lola Kay. He was immediately taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Mr. Everson has been employed at Hormel's for many years. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. at Worlein's Funeral Home in Austin and also at 2 p.m. at Our Savior Lutheran church in Lyle with Pastor S. Stenson officiating, with interment at Pleasant Hill cemetery at Mona. (A complete obituary will appear next week)

Mr. Everson's sister Mr.s Orlando Grove and family who had gone to Fort Worth, Texas to visit over the holidays were called home. Their son became ill with mumps after they arrived in Texas and had to leave him there.
