LENA REUTER.

Of the many sudden deaths that have come to the various homes in this community, none have seemed more sad or called forth more sympathy than the passing of Mrs. Carl Reuter, who had been taken to the Story Hospital at Mason City, Iowa where she passed away Sunday morning at 2 o'clock after a week's illness.

The deceased was born in Oldenburg, Germany, January 15th 1884. At the age of six she, with her parents came to this country and settled on a farm near Monitcello, in Jones county Iowa. In the year of 1908 she was united in marriage to Carl Reuter at Anamosa, Iowa where they made their home until last fall when the family moved into their farm known as the I.K. Everson farm near Mona. To this union three children were born, Rex, Raymond and Leo, who besides her sorrowing and bereaved husband mourn her sudden demise. She is also survived by two sisters, two brothers and a mother and father. Mrs. Reuter was a kind hearted and cheerful disposition and her presence in the neighborhood as well as in the home will be greatly missed. Though the family had only lived in this neighborhood a short time they have made many warm friends whose sympathy is extended to the husband and children in their hour of bereavement.

The funeral was held from the Lutheran church at Mona Tuesday afternoon and was largely attended by friends and neighbors. Interment was made at Pleasant Hill cemetery. Those who attended from away from Mr. and Mrs. Chris Decker, the deceased parents , Mr. and Mrs. Fred Reuter and Will Decker of Monticellow, Iowa, Eberhart and Mr.s Gerd Prull, Longworthy, Mrs. Albert Siemer, Will and Ben Thruman of Ambero Iowa, Mrs. Jess Mortenson and Mrs. Anna Decker of Monticello, Iowa.
