For Mrs. J. C. Myhre

Funeral services for Mrs. J. C. Myhre, 91, who died at her home in Lyle Tuesday, April 24, were held Saturday, April 28 at the Mona Lutheran church with the Rev. Stanford Stenson officiating.

Karen Johnson Myhre was born December 12, 1864 in Norway to Bernt and Johanna Johnson.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in St. Ansgar, Iowa by Pastor John Olson. On December 6, 1893, she was united in marriage to Jacob Myhre at the Mona Lutheran Church of which she was a life member. She was a faithful member of the church and Ladies Aid and served as a Sunday School teacher for many years.

During her years of failing health she was very patient, always greeting her visiting with a warm smile. She put all her faith and trust in her Lord and longingly waited for her Savior to take her to her heavenly home. Her husband preceded her in death in June, 1955. Mrs. Myhre was 91 years, 4 months and 12 days of age at the time of her death.

She is survived by five children, Jurine and Conrad of Lyle, Daisy of Colorado City, Tex., Alvin and Glenn, North Hollywood, Calif., six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Jennie Peterson. She was a kind and loving mother and will be greatly missed by her children, relatives and many friends.

Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Rev. Stenson in charge of committal services.
