Old Settler Called

Knute Strand, one of Lyle's most respected citizens, passed away at his home in this village, Sunday morning about 11 o'clock. For many years he had been suffering with heart trouble, and at times was very low. Saturday he was up to the stores and attended to some business matters, unaware that it was his last trip, as he was as well as usual.

In spite of his affliction, Mr. Strand was cheerful and hopeful. He had many friends and always enjoyed their company. As a farmer in Mitchell he achieved success, and when he moved to Lyle to reside, a number of years ago, sold his farm, which was one of the best in that section.

The funeral was held Thursday afternoon and the remains were laid to rest in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Mona.
