OBITUARY

Joseph A Follmuth, born January 1, 1884 near Manly, Iowa died at St. Olaf Hospital at Austin, Tuesday, July 19. He was taken ill July 11 and submitted to an operation for acute appendicitis the following day.

At the age of six years Mr. Follmuth moved with his folks to a farm southeast of Northwood. In Feb 1909 he married Lizzie Kleinwort. The same year they moved onto a farm near Lyle. Mrs. Follmuth died in Feb. 1921. In the year 1923, March 8, Mr. Follmuth was married to Marie Hanson. To this union were born two children, Lorraine eight years and Ruth two years.

Mr. Follmuth's mother died on the same date as her son nineteen years ago. His father passed away ten years ago, August 17, 1922.

Mr. Follmuth was received into full membership of Mona Lutheran Church through adult confirmation a year ago last November.

He left to mourn his sudden death, besides his wife and two children, five brothers, John, Edward and Lawrence at home; Albert at Glenville, Minn; and George at Osage; also five sisters, Mrs. F. Clineman, Terrace, Minn. Mrs. Hans Kulman, Kenseth, Iowa; Mrs. E C Seater and Mrs. Alfred Peterson, Northwood, Ia and Emma Follmuth at home.

Rev. H. Loss conducted the funeral services at Mona Lutheran church June 21. Interment was made at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The service was largely attended by relatives and friends, many coming from the surrounding villages. Mr. Follmuth was a good neighbor, and stood high in the esteem of large circle of acquaintances. Mrs. Follmuth was ill at the time and unable to attend the service.
