On December 2, 1880 he was united in marriage to Martha Hanson at St. Ansgar, by the same pastor who confirmed him. To this union were born 8 children: Preceding him in death are his wife and three children, Ole, Emma and Hattie.

Those left to mourn his departure are his children; Mrs Peter Nelson, Alfred and Lewis Larson of this community; George Larson of Osage and Mrs Newton Bigelow of Austin; 20 grandchildren 17 great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs John Hanson of Plymouth, Ia.

If I could see beyond today,
As God can see,
If all the clouds should roll away,
The shadows flee,
O'er present griefs we would not
fret,
Each sorrow we would soon forget,
For many joys are waiting yet
For you and me, beyond.
Blessed be the memory of this
your father and dear one in Jesus
name.
