The funeral of the late Mrs. Johanna Olson took place last Friday at the Mona church and was conducted by Rev. A. E. Moe. The deceased was well known in her community where she had lived since 1882.

She was born in Smallenene, Norway, April 7th, 1838 where she made her home for 44 years. In 1867 she was united in marriage to Andrew Olson, who passed away 15 years ago. This union was blessed with six children, four of whom still survive. In 1882 the family immigrated to America and coming here located in Mitchell county, Iowa on a farm near Mona where the deceased continued to live until her death on Monday the 22nd of March.

The children who are left to mourn her loss of a faithful mother are Ole Olson of Penville, S.D., August and Miss Lena Olson and Mrs. Chris Nelson all of this locality.

Mrs. Olson was a conscientious and faithful worker in the church and especially in the Ladies Aid society. She was a member of The Savior's church at Mona and her sudden death was a shock to her many friends. The large number of friends and neighbors who attended the funeral to pay their respects to the departed showed in a measure the high esteem in which she was held.

"THANKS."

We wish to thank the neighbors and friends who so kindly assisted during the illness and death of our dear mother, also the choir and those who brought floral offerings.
August Olson and Sister.
