Obituary

The remains of Mrs. Henrietta Peterson arrived in Lyle Sunday and the funeral was held Monday afternoon at the Lutheran church. This was the sad and sudden ending of the lives of the young happy couple who started life together about two years ago. Her husband, Dr. C. O. Peterson met a tragic death on the 27th day of October and in less than a month she too had answered the last call. Her health has been failing for the past year but not until her husband's death did she give up hope of getting better and after a brave struggle with the grim reaper she died peacefully Friday morning November 26th. She was a quiet and sweet disposition and no matter what the cares and trails were, she bore them without the slightest complaint. When her husband met his tragic death she took it calmly and planned all the details of his burial, little realizing that she so soon was to follow to the silent city of the dead.

The deceased was born near Mona Iowa January 7 1892, where she grew to womanhood. For a number of years she was a faithful employee at the Gem restaurant. Wednesday Oct 22, 1913 she was united in marriage to Dr. C. O. Peterson and immediately after their marriage they moved to Cottonwood where she lived until her death. The deceased is survived by her parents Mr. and Mrs. John O. Larson of Osage, also brother George of Osage, Alfred of North Dakota and Lewis of Northwood, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Peter Nelson and Miss Edna both of this vicinity. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Moe and interment was made in Pleasant Hill cemetery. The same pall bearers that she chose for the Doctor's funeral carried her remains to their last resting place.
