OBITUARY

Helmer Nelson, the second son of Mr. and Mrs. N. O. Nelson, died at the hospital in Austin, Monday morning after a week's illness. The Monday previous he complained of feeling ill and consulted a doctor. He went home and helped a little with the binder, but Tuesday afternoon his condition became serious and he was taken to the hospital and operated on for appendicitis. During the week he showed signs of improvement but Sunday, it was apparent that he was failing, and, Monday, he passed away.

Helmer was born in Allamamakee County, Iowa, July 20th 1897. He was a bright, cheerful young man and had many friends where he was known. During his short illness he suffered much, but said very little about it.

The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at the Lyle Lutheran church, and interment was made at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
