Halvor Anderson, father of Banker Anderson of this village, departed from this life very peacefully Tuesday Jan. 31., at his home 4 1/2 mile south of here.

The deceased was eight-two years and six months old, and died not of disease but of old age. Feeling weary he sat down to rest and fell asleep in the arms of his loving wife, never to awake. He was the father of sixteen children, of whom six girls and eight boys are now living, five of whom are residents of Lyle. Mr. Anderson came from Norway in 1853. and settled in Milwaukee. The following year he moved to his late home where he has resided since.
