News spread around town last Saturday, about noon, that Gustave Carlson had suddenly passed away at his home near Mona and it was later corroborated and the facts more completely learned.

He was in apparent good health in the morning and went with his son down to the creek to haul some sand. While there he complained of a pain in his chest and his son assisted him back to the house. His time however was very short and after resting there a few minutes passed away in less than half an hour after being brought home.
