Gunhild Sola obituary
Obituary
Gunhild Marie Sola, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peder O. Sola, of Freeborn County, Minn., passed away at the home of her parents July 12th., at 2:30 P. M., after a long illness. She was born May 10th, 1893, was baptized the same year by Rev. L. O. Pederson of Kensett, Ia. In her 15th year, after due instruction in the word of God, she was confirmed in Lutheran faith by Rev. David Stove, March 29, 1908, in the North Deer Creek church.
The sickness that ultimately took her life began about 10 years ago in the form of a small tumor under her right eye. During the later years she sought the best medical aid but no avail. The last five months have been especially trying as the pain was very severe at times. When the end came, she was willing to depart this life, and go to her Saviour, where she also hoped to see her father, who preceded her to the home beyond, 5 years ago. She was a faithful member of the Deer Creek Valley congregation, the Young Peoples League and the church choir. She confessed her faith in Jesus Christ as her Saviour, and we hope that when she left us, she went home for the place that Jesus has prepared for her.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her mother, her brothers, and two sisters: Lewis at Lyle, Ole, Robert, Palmer, Bergit and Kittie at home, and a number of relatives and a host of friends.
The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and at the North Deer Creek Valley Church at 3 o'clock, before a large gathering. The services were conducted by Rev. Hans Fosnes, assisted by Mr. F. L. Trousdal of Eau Claire, Wis. Interment was made in the London cemetery.
