Mrs. E. Hofland
Dies Thursday

DIES ON THURSDAY EVENING
AFTER ILLNESS OF SEVERAL
WEEKS

Mrs. E. A. Hofland, 63, a resident of Mitchell county all of her life, died at her home near Toeterville on last Thursday after an illness several weeks.

Mrs. Hofland had been failing in health for the past few years and last September went to Rochester, Minn., and underwent an examination. Since that time she had been confined to her bed and her condition grew steadily worse.

Gertrude Engester, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Engeseter, was born October 14, 1870, in Sogn, Norway. She was baptized at this place by the Lutheran pastor. When she was two years old her parents came to the United States, settling in Union township. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith by Rev. Eggen.

On April 27, 1898, she was married to Ed Holland and to this union six children were born, all of whom survive. The children are: Alfred, Sidney, Martha (Mrs. Ervin Schulze), Ella (Mrs. Ervin Deiterich), Oscar and Eugene. Her parents, brother and sister preceded her in death.
