Former Lyle Publisher Dies In Minneapolis
Lyle friends have learned that a former resident, William Nordland, 88, Editor and publisher of the Lyle Tribune for 49 years, died in Minneapolis last Thursday, April 25. He had been making his home at the Alliance Rest Home there for the past few years since the death of his wife in 1959. The Nordlands Published the Lyle Tribune, a weekly newspaper, from 1902 to 1956 when he retired.
He and Mrs. Nordland left Lyle in 1956 to live in Minneapolis. Services were held in Minneapolis Monday, April 29 with the Rev. Carl Volstad in charge. Burial was in The Crystal Lake Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jenny Lee Nordland on July 15, 1959.
He is survived by one sister, Hannah Dahlen and three brothers; Pearly Nordland, Dr. Martin Nordland, and Albert H. Nordland, all of Minneapolis.
