MRS. ELVERUM LAID TO REST

Death came Saturday morning at 5 o'clock to Mrs. Ella Elverum, to end the toil and suffering, that has been her lot for many years. At times she was confined to her bed, and then again she would rally and be about the home as usual, but gradually growing weaker. As long as she was able she toiled faithfully on. She will be missed by the family, and also by a host of friends who had learned to know her through her long residence in the community.

Ella Johnson Elverum was born, Nov. 15, 1860 at Sogndal, Norway.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. At the age of twelve, she came with her parents to this country, and has lived in or near this community.

She passed peacefully away on June 20th, 1936, at the age of 75 years, 7 months and 5 days. She leaves to mourn her loss; three sons and three daughters, P. A. Peterson of Minneapolis, Alfred Torgeson, Austin, Melvin Elverum of Lyle, Mrs. Henry Burkhardt, of Chicago, Mrs. George Anderson of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Harry Jordan of Lyle. One son, John, passed away in 1906.

She also leave sixteen grandchildren and one great grand child.

Funeral services were held at the Harry Jordan home Monday, and at Our Saviors Lutheran church at Lyle at 2 P. M., Rev. Langehough officiating.
