1901-04-12 - "Closed Their Doors" - The firm of Eggert Brothers, hardware dealers, closed their store Tuesday and are making arrangements to settle with their creditors. Three hardware houses: viz Farwall, Ozmun Kirk & Co., of St. Paul, Cutler Hardware Co., of Waterloo, and Simmons Hardware Company of St. Louis hold mortgages covering the entire value of the merchandise left in the store. It is doubtful whether the Eggert boys will longer continue in the hardware business here.

1901-11-29 - The Eggert Bros. bankruptcy case has been finally settled, the creditors received 32 cents on the dollar. The $1200 claim of Chas. Eggert, father of the boys, has been allowed and he will receive 32 per cent, same as the other creditors.
