FUNERAL HELD FOR EDW. BJORK
AT LUTHERAN CHURCH SATURDAY

Thursday morning last week news spread rapidly about the village that Ed Bjork had passed away during the night. He had been in his usual health and it was a shock to his immediate family and friends.

Edward J Bjork was born May 20, 1870 in Mitchell county, Iowa, the son of Andrew and Christena Bjork. He was baptized in infancy and confirmed at the age of 15 in the Mona Lutheran church.

On November 19, 1901 he was united in marriage to Helen Olson. To this union five children were born. Albert Richard, who died June 30, 1934. Surviving are his wife and one daughter Mrs R W McCanne of Findley, Ohio and three sons Edward and Herbert of Austin and Allan of Lyle and five grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother Albert Bjork of Marion, N D and a sister Mrs Pete Dock of West Palm Beach Florida.

He was a charter member of Our Savior's Lutheran church and was active in the planning and construction of the church. He was the last surviving member of the Thorstad, Naversath, Bjork, Wyborny carpenter crew that some 30 years ago built many houses in Lyle and and community. He was a member of the Board of Education and served a number of years as Village Marshal.

Mr Bjork was always a devoted family man and will long be remembered for the large number of friends that he made during his long and active lifetime.

The funeral was held Saturday at Our Savior's Luth. church and interment was made in Pleasant Hill cemetery Rev Stanley Gjervik local pastor had charge of the service.
