1916-12-22 - Attention is called in this week's issue to the advertisement of Dr. G. R. Melzer who has located in Lyle permanently. Dr. Melzer is a graduate of the Northwestern University, Chicago, and then continued his studies and observations at the Cook County Hospital, German and North Chicago Hospitals for a period of four years. In 1909 while Dr. Frazer spent the winter in the south, Dr. Melzer had charge of Dr. Frazer's practice in this place and is therefore not an entire stranger to this place. His past experience makes him well qualified to practice medicine and surgery and his many friends are pleased to have him located in Lyle.

To Celebrate 75th Birthday Sun." - ...Dr. Melzer will be 75 years of age Sunday and will observe his anniversary at his home in Lyle. He has been a physician in Lyle during almost all of his practice and is at present the Health Officer for the village.
