1948-12-17 - "Bought Grocery" - Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Romig of Faribault have purchased the City Market from Mrs. Fernie Neus, who has operated the business since her husband passed away. The Forrest family will have living quarters over the Hobkirk barber shop. Due to the icy roads the new proprietors did not take charge Wednesday as planned, but will do so later. Mrs. Neus has also sold her house to Mikkel Helle of Mona. She will give possession June 1st.

1950-02-24 - "City Market Grocery Sold to Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Remke of Austin" - Forrest Romig who has been operating the City Market since he purchased it from Mrs. News (sic) in December 1948, sold it last Monday to Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Remke of Austin. The Remkes took possession the same day.
