The City Market - Byron B. Bradford

1946-01-11 - "Grocery and Meat Shop Sold" - The meat and grocery business and building purchased by Ted Bissell on the 16th of October 1944, from L. G. Howard, was sold last week Friday to Byron B. Bradford of Austin, who took charge Monday. The Bissell family will move to Des Moines where Mr. B. will run an oil station
1946-01-25 - What might have proved a fatal accident was timely averted Tuesday when B. B. Bradford answered a call for help by Elmer Grandreau who was doing electrical wiring in the cooler at the City Market. He grasped a live wire with both hands, and was unable to extricate himself. Mr. Bradford pulled the man from the wire, not thinking of his own danger. Luckily, he wore rubbers, which saved both men. The injured man is at Austin, and is reported in a serious condition.

1946-08-16 - "Harry Brechel (sic) Buys Red Owl Store" - Harry Brechel of Rose Creek purchased the Byron Bradford Red Owl stock and store building, and will take possession September 15. Mr. Bradford passed exam, was inducted into the service and restored to his former rank.
1946-09-20 - "New Proprietors Take Charge." - Harry Brechtel who purchased the Red Owl grocery from Mr. and Mrs. B. Bradford took over the business Monday morning. A grand opening will be held Saturday, giving the people and opportunity to meet and get acquainted with the new proprietors. Mr. and Mrs. Bretchel come from the Rose Creek neighborhood. They have one child.
