The funeral service of the late Christian Meyer was held Monday at the Six Mile Grove Church and was conducted by Rev. A. Elmer Moe. The remains were laid to rest in the family lot near the church.

In the passing of Mr. Meyer this community loses a good, conscientious and highly respected citizen. He was weak physically but had faith and always encouraged and assisted every worthy enterprise for the good of his community and his influence will live after him. He was a quiet and unassuming character and like many of the early pioneers wrought and labored that those who came after might enjoy a richer and better heritage.

The deceased was born at Riser, Norway, in 1849. He came with his parents to America in 1865. On March 26th, 1878, he was united in marriage in Christina Sampson. To them were born seven children, two of them, Sophie and Marie, passed away in 1905. He is survived by his wife and five children, Olaves, Lawrence and Henry, of Rosholt, S. D., and Clarence and Miss Florence of his place, all of whom were present at the funeral. One brother, Mathias, of Rosholt, S. D., and one sister, Mrs. O. G. Halvorson, of Mona, survive him.

He was a faithful member of the Six Mile Grove Lutheran church since he arrived in this country.

On Monday, December 20th, he was taken seriously ill and passed away at his home in Lyle Wednesday, December 22nd.
