The teachers and pupils of Lyle public schools paid tribute to the memory of the late Capt. Wm. Stanley by placing the flag on the school premises at half-mast and contributing flowers for the occasion also by closing the schools on the afternoon of the funeral, while the business men showed tribute by closing their places of business during the funeral hour.
