THE OBITUARY OF
BERNT JOHNSON

Bernt Johnson died at 5:30 Thursday morning, March 21, 1929, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Huldah Erickson, of Lyle, Minn.

Bernt Johnson was born in Solor, Norway, on April 20, 1842. The year 1862 he was united in marriage with Johanna Pederson. They emigrated from Norway to the United States and arrived in Otranto township, Mitchell county, Iowa, in June, 1871.

To Mr. and Mrs. Johnson were born ten children: Johanes of Nome, N. D.; Karen, wife of J. C. Myhre, of this place; Helma, wife of Ole Larson (deceased); Ole (deceased); Mina, wife of G. G. Berg, Betsie, wife of J. O. Nessett (deceased); Gunda, wife of C. J. Carlson; Jennie, wife of C. O. Peterson, Fargo, N. D.; Bennie of Mona; Hulda, wife of D. E. Erickson of Lyle. The wife of Mr. Johnson died in December, 1891.

The deceased is survived by 29 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

The funeral services were held from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Erickson, at 1:30 and at the Mona church at 2:00 on Saturday, the Rev. O. M. Langehough officiating.
