OBITUARY.

The expected death always comes as a blow to those who are near and dear and even tho they may be at the bedside of the failing one awaiting the silent messenger, the loss comes with no less force, but is often increased by the thought of the suffering of the last days of earthly trial. So it was with the family who last Saturday were bereaved of the loving care of the husband and father, A. O. Fossey, who passed away after a few weeks of suffering from cancer of the stomach.

Anton Fossey was born in Brandvold, Solor, Norway Jan. 28, 1851 and died Dec. 1910. When 14 years of age he emigrated with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Ole Fossey to Mitchell Co. Iowa where he lived till the time of his death. He was confirmed at St. Ansgar, Iowa, By Rev. Clausen and married by Rev. Olson to Olivia Christianson of Grue, Solor, Dec. 6 1882. To them was born 9 children, 6 boys and 3 girls who are left to mourn his departure all being present at his death and funeral except the oldest daughter Mrs. Henry Thompson who was detained on account of sickness.

Besides these there are left to mourn his death 2 brothers, Oliver Fossey of Velva, N. Dak. and Chas. Fossey of Moorhead, Minn. 3 sisters Mrs. Theo Thompson of Mona, Mrs. E. B. Qually of Winnipeg, Cana. and Mrs. O. A. Dahl of Barlow and his aged mother residing with her daughter Mrs. Dahl. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon from the Mona church and interment was made in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
