OBITUARY

Andrew Bernhard, son of Grunde and Marie Anderson, was born in Tuedestrand, Norway May 24 1877. He became a sailor when a lad in his teens, and came to the United States in 1933. For some years he worked on farms, then for nine years he was employed by the late Dr and Mrs Cobb at Lyle.

In 1906 he went to Buffalo Springs, No. Dak., and took a homestead where he lived until the time of his death, Jan. 12th. in a hospital in Hettinger, N. D. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, five brothers, Anders, Swain, George, August and Julius.

Surviving him are five brothers: Carl and Wm McKinley of Minneapolis, Bert of Moline, Ill., Gerhard and Harris of Cedar Falls., Ia, a step mother, Mrs Freier of Cedar Falls, nephews and nieces.

Those from away who attended the funeral were Mr and Mrs John Knutson, Mr and Mrs Harris Anderson, Mr and Mrs Gerhart Anderson of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Mr and Mrs C M Anderson, Ilah, Alice, Genevieve and Grant, Mr and Mrs Carl Knutson and Mr and Mrs Howard Anderson of Minneapolis.

The remains were brought to Lyle Tuesday and services were held at the N Severson home, with Rev. Gjervik in charge. Burial was at Pleasant Hill cemetery.
