AMUND SUNDEM.

Amund Sundem passed away at his home, one mile north of Lyle, Saturday, Oct. 9th. Mr. Sundem reached the old age of 90 years and six months. He was born in Aurdahl, Valders, Norway on the 27th of March, 1825. Came to America in 1855. After having lived at Blue Mount, Wis., for five years he came to Mower County where he purchased a farm on which he lived the greater part of his life.

In 1860 Mr. Sundem was united in marriage to Margaret Helleberg, who passed away several years ago. Their marriage was blest with four children, two sons and two daughters. The children who survive him are his son Kristian of Rame, N. D., and his two daughters Anna and Mrs. John Austinson both of this place.

The deceased was among the early pioneers of this vicinity and shares the honor with those who by hard labor and sacrifice have made this community what it is today. The many beautiful homes and well established farms are concrete proofs of the fact that the men who came here in the early days have done a praise worthy work bringing untold blessings to their succeeding generations which take their places when they are gone.

The funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon by Rev. A. Elmer Moe and the remains were laid to rest in the family lot at Six Mile Grove cemetery.
