Alice A. Thompson was born May 26, 1896, the daughter of Thomas and [illegible:Othelia] Thompson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

Her girlhood was spent at Lyle, where she attended public school. On June 2, 1918, she was united in marriage with Roy L. Volstad at Lyle. They resided at Lyle and Minneapolis before moving to Indianapolis, Ind., where they since made their home.

She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Indianapolis. She had been in ill health several months and passed away at Methodist Hospital, Nov. 29, 1960.

Mrs. Volstad is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Oyler (Bettie), Marion, Ind.; two sons, Robert of Aurora, Colo., and William of Indianapolis; a brother, Clifford Thompson, Badger, Minn.; a sister, Mrs. Arthur Fortun, Lyle; eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Funeral services were held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church Lyle, Dec. 3, 1960.
