1932 James Helgeson 1980

James Kenneth Helgeson was born Jan. 24, 1932, in Austin, Minn., the son of Ole and Clara Helgeson.

He resided on Austin Rt. 3, until 1972, when he moved to Lyle. He was baptized at Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church, Lyle, and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Austin. He attended Austin Public Schools.

Mr. Helgeson was engaged in farming and carpentry work and was awarded the American Farmer Degree in 1951, by the National Future Farmers of America. He was a member of the Lyle Lions Club and Our Savior's Brotherhood, Lyle.

Mr. Helgeson died May 5, 1890, at his home at Lyle.

Surviving are three brothers, Ervin L. Helgeson, Rose Creek, Minn., Glen E. Helgeson, Glenville, Minn., Wayne Helgeson, Lyle, Minn.; seven nieces and nephews; five great-nieces and nephews; uncles; aunts; cousins.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. May 7, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Lyle, Rev. Harold Luecke officiating. Interment was in Six Mile Grove Cemetery, Lyle, with pallbearers, W. F. (Bud) Hotson, Richard Magee, Larry Helgeson, Dennis Helgeson, Dale Helgeson, David Helgeson. Charles Ekle was soloist and David Dahlquist, organist. Worlein Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
